Thanks to a random search of DA a couple months ago, searching for shots in my hometown, I came upon a picture of someone Cosplaying as Sephiroth. I was a tad dumbfounded to discover that Sioux Falls hosted an honest to god Anime Convention. Seriously. It was had enough to beleive the Century played 'Memories of Nobody' last year.... let alone a convention. Needless to say my curiosity was peaked, usually my only face-to-face fraternization with people with similar interests was limited to Heroclix night and the occasional conversation struck up conversation in the Toy aisle. I marked it down on my calender and decided to take it in this weekend.

Friday I opted to go for the 50 dollar weekend pass... and I'm glad I did. I love it.

True I didn't do much thanks to limited schedule, basically did what I did at Botcon 99. Just scavenged through the Dealer room, shot bull with representatives for Nebraskon, various cosplayers, and artists, I'd even brought along some of my works to show off. Still wish I could have found the hard copy of 'Desert zaku's'.

Swag-wise, I walked off with a 1-144 HGUC Zuda model, 1-100 scale Mastergrade Gouf & Zaku High Mobility type(Tri-star model), 2 Kon Plushies (him being squished and in a defiant pose), a Ed/Ein plushie, Dice (for some reason), Magnets, and had some commisions done by [link] . I don't think I can say this enough (even though it sounds ass-kissy) but I absolutely LOVE her work. First time I seen a picture of Fran from Final Fantasy that could be shown in public.

Nest year I think i'll try to get that weekend off work, so I can actually participate.

hell... I'm even contemplating cosplaying.
